A fresh coat

The arts community and American Family Insurance are teaming up to help the Salvation Army secure coats for those in need. Please bring your gently used coats between today and Nov. 5 to the Allied Arts Council office, 118 S. Eighth St, or to one of the following American Family Agents: Lee Butler, 2721 Pembroke Lane; Rick Hopp, 910 N. Belt; Tom Lemmon, 2524 St. Joseph Ave.: Stephen Lorenz, 1109 N. 26th St.; Chuck Morris, 3001 Frederick Ave.; Dave Price, 910 N. Woodbine; Carolyn Sampson, 6120 King Hill Ave.; Rod Sampson, 704 S. The coats will be delivered to the Salvation Army on Friday, Nov. 6. The coats must be clean and ready to wear. They ask that you donate coats that don't need buttons sewn on or repaired and have working zippers. Gloves, mittens and hats are also needed. Men's, women's and especially children's coats are needed. The Salvation Army will send a tax receipt for any coats if a name and address is provided.

Anthony Glise will be giving a free lecture on "Performance Rights and Copyrights: Making Royalties in the Music Industry" at 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at Cafe Acoustic. Glise will discuss the difference between copyright protection for musicians and registering your original music with performance rights organizations to insure royalty payment from live, radio and television performances. The lecture is sponsored by the St. Joseph Music Foundation and is open to the public. PEA-utiful

An audition will be held for the Missoula Children's Theatre original adaptation of "The Princess and the Pea" at 4 p.m. Nov. 9 at Kemper Recital Hall, Leah Spratt Building, Missouri Western State University. Those auditioning should plan to stay for the full two hours. Some cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition. Among the roles to be cast are the Princess, the Pea, King and Queen Size of Riverdom, Storm King and Snow Queen of Glacierdom, the Prince, the mischievous Jack Frost, the citizens of Riverdom and Glacierdom, the Dust Bunnies, some wannabe princesses and some meddling leprechauns. All K-12 students are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary.
